Fear and stress can contribute to the development and progression of heart disorder. This is because when we are stressed, our body goes into defense mode, which stimulates the heart, contracts blood vessels, and leads to high blood pressure. Meditation reduces these feelings, which impacts our heart health. A recent study on patients with stable cardiac heart disease has shown incredible benefits from just 4 months of consistent meditation practice. A study observed that meditation significantly reduced blood pressure and had a positive impact on heart rate variability. A similar study found that meditation reduced blood pressure as well as the use of anti-hypertensive medication for adults with mild or moderate hypertension.
